Visit the world famous monastery of Montserrat with its Natural Park and one of the largest traditional Cava cellars in Penedès County.
The mountain of Montserrat is a rocky massif that stands out in dramatic scenery at some 4,000 feet on the see level, perched on the Llobregat River. This unique landscape in the world, crisscrossed by several cable cars and funiculars, is a natural park and hosts a millennium year old monastery built to worship the “Moreneta” -a 12th c. wooden carving- in its luxurious shrine.
The Escolania children’s choir is the oldest music school in Europe still in function. Visitors to the basilica can enjoy their angel’s voices six days a week. Not in July and August.
